Rehearsals with a wide range of groups over a two month period, including FALCON project, Eden Court Youth Theatre, Eden Court Adult Drama Lab, Invergordon Players, Dingwall Choir, Feis Rois Kiltearn Fiddlers

To bring together young people with residents of care centres for the elderly, to work together on an event or artwork that will encourage those involved to understand the value of community of different age groups with contrasting experiences

School children worked with residents from care home for the elderly to create artwork, drama & music about childhood experiences.

CELTIC LINKS ARTIST RESIDENCY – Blind Ceramic Artist

Workshops to encourage participation in the arts for all and across the ability range. Exploring how a perceived disadvantage (visual impairment) can provide a unique view of the world with endless possibilities for a fresh approach. Exhibition of Padraig Naughton's work in Inverness .

Exhibition of Padraig Naughton's work in Inverness . Participants were involved in producing panels for a collaborative tactile mural. Academy pupils were able to include pots and charcoal drawings to their portfolios for Higher work. Padraig's ceramic tiles were installed at the Black Isle Leisure Centre.

DESCRIPTION

An afternoon ceilidh in the Spectrum Centre drama studio, Inverness with audience and performers swapping roles throughout. Out of Darkness Theatre Co came through especially from Elgin . Other groups came from Tain, Drumnadrochit and Inverness . Some experienced artists from the Artlink Highland register took part. Banners decorated the room. The event was free.

OUTCOMES

An excellent opportunity for people of all abilities to perform in an informal and friendly setting.

DESCRIPTION

The 3 rd in a series of exhibitions put together by Artlink Highland, this time in the Perrins Centre, Alness

This followed on from a series of artist led workshops: Haiku poetry at Catalina House, Music at Isobel Rhind Centre, Pottery at Highland Hospice (5 sessions), Visual Arts/Puppetry at St Clements (2), Dingwall CC Friday Club, Wyvis House, Textile Art at Spectrum Monday Club (2) and Cheshire House (2), Stencil Art at Corbett Centre, Banner Workshop at Riding for Disabled, Flower-pot designs at Perrins Centre (2), Music for Slides at Wyvis House.

OUTCOMES

Exhibition of work by those involved – "a beautiful show, full of inspiration and originality." Exhibits from L'Arche, Drummond School, St Clement's School, Red Cross House, The Bridg'it Centre, Alness Tuesday Club, Birchwood House Nursing Home, Highland Hospice, Cantray Bridge Rural Skills College, Campaneas Cottage, Dingwall Community Centre, Birnie Child Development Centre, Spectrum Centre Monday Club, Scottish Down's Syndrome Association, Cheshire House, Nansen Trust

L'Arche sold £45 worth of candles.

DESCRIPTION

Workshops in Pottery, Creative Writing, Textile Printing, Music and Colour, Music and Woodwork, T Shirt Printing, Puppetry and Drumming at a range of centres.

Exhibition at the Spectrum Centre including pottery, photographs, collages, textiles, murals, poetry, decorated furniture, woodwork, paintings, charcoal drawings, totems, glass painting, patchwork, audio sea box, video and tapes of workshops, All created by disabled people, mainly with assistance from Artlink artistes.

Evening Ceilidh at the Spectrum Centre. This was the focal point and was attended by 50 to 60 people. Highlights included drumming session, involving most of the audience, a shining performance by "Out of Darkness" Theatre Co and a wonderful demonstration of wheelchair dancing by members of the Highland Wheelchair Dancing Club. Exhibition and Ceilidh at the Spectrum Centre.
